Upland: All-terrain DNA
The new special edition Jeep Renegade Upland and Compass Upland is based on the Limited trim level, but with expanded equipment that places it as an intermediate version within the range. Intended for those who want to enjoy the off-road capabilities of Renegade and Compass, the Upland edition features a number of distinctive details and attributes.
On both the Jeep Renegade and Compass, the front end sports more rugged styling with a dedicated bumper that adds added protection and a lower skid plate. These protections extend across the bodywork, including wheel arches, side sills and a new rear bumper. There are also longitudinal roof rails, and black door mirrors and window frames.
On the other hand, the 17" alloy wheels are equipped with specific snow and mud tires. This element of style and functionality is reinforced by an exclusive sticker on the hood, as well as the five exterior colors that cover its bodywork: Alpine White, Sting Gray, Solid Black, Colorado Red and Shade Blue. All paints, except Solid Black, can be combined with a black roof color.
An interior with unique details
The interior of the new Jeep Renegade and Compass Upland is characterized by specific details. On the Renegade there are bronze MetaKrome painted finishes on the front speakers and air vent bezels, while the Compass sports this same tone throughout the dashboard profile. It is also present on the black vinyl and cloth upholstery with bronze MetaKrome inserts to match the seat stitching. These seat covers can be cleaned and washed, so you can enjoy the adventure without fear of staining.
Regardless of the special edition, the Upland models are equipped with the Uconnect infotainment system with 8.4" touch screen in the case of the Renegade and 10.1" in the Compass, which also complements a 10" digital instrument panel and a wireless charger for mobile devices.
Neither do they renounce their more practical side. Both special versions offer an interior for 5 passengers and a trunk that, in the case of the Renegade, has a cargo capacity of 330 liters and, in the Compass, 420 liters. In addition, they have split folding rear seatbacks that allow increased trunk space for transporting bulky objects.
Plug-in hybrid engine
The new Jeep Renegade and Compass Upland are available in 4xe plug-in hybrid versions. This efficient propulsion system combines a four-cylinder 1.3 Turbo gasoline engine managed by a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with two electric motors (one on each axle) and an 11.4 kWh lithium-ion battery. The result is a combined power output of 240 hp and all-wheel drive.
Its exceptional off-road performance combines with its versatility for everyday use. The new Upland special edition is also ideal for city use thanks to its long range in electric mode, reaching an average of 50 kilometers between charges. In addition, the plug-in hybrid technology also ensures low fuel consumption, with averages of less than 2.0 l/100 km, and access to the DGT's Zero Emissions environmental badge.
