What does the new Mercedes GLC 2023 look like?

The new generation of the Mercedes GLC 2023 is larger than its predecessor. At 4,716 mm long, 1,890 mm wide and 1,640 mm high, the new GLC is 60 mm longer and 4 mm lower, as well as offering 15 mm more wheelbase. This translates into a more spacious and comfortable interior, with five seats, wider rear seats and a trunk that increases its capacity by 70 liters, reaching 620 liters without giving up the second row seats.

Aesthetically, the new GLC is more attractive, with much more character and personality. Thanks to the AMG Line version, the Mercedes-Benz SUV features sporty bumpers, a new grille and a diffuser with chrome trim. The Night package adds even more style with elements in gloss black, while you can customize the exterior by choosing from one of the different designs of alloy wheels in sizes from 18" to 20".

The body is available in eleven different colors including standard Black and Polar White, metallic paints Obsidian Black, Nautical Blue, Graphite Gray, Mojave Silver, High-Tech Silver, Spectral Blue and Selenite Gray; and MANUFAKTUR paints in Hyacinth Red and Diamond White.

In the interior, on the other hand, you can choose leather upholstery, ARTICO leather simile and two-tone nappa leather upholstery, as well as six different moldings for the dashboard, center console and door panels. You can also choose comfort or multicontour seats, add climate control and memory function, various steering wheel designs, ambient lighting or different extras to create a customized cabin according to your preferences.

Electrified motorizations

The engine offering of the Mercedes GLC 2023 includes diesel and gasoline engines with 48-volt Mild Hybrid technology. This means that they feature EQ Boost technology, a micro-hybrid system that integrates its own electrical grid, a 48-volt battery and a small electric motor of 17 kW (23 hp) that assists the combustion engine in accelerations and allows maximizing the performance of the Start-Stop system or the function of driving in 'sailing mode', as well as obtaining the ECO environmental label.

The engines that make up this light hybrid system are the GLC 200 4MATIC, a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 204 hp, and the GLC 300 4MATIC, which increases the power of the 2.0-liter engine to 258 hp. It is also compatible with diesel engines, such as the GLC 220 d 4MATIC and GLC 300 d 4MATIC, both 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines with 197 hp and 269 hp of power, respectively. All engines of the GLC 2023 are equipped as standard with a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission and a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.

In addition, there are two plug-in hybrid models within the range. On the one hand, the 313 hp GLC 300 e 4MATIC combines a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with an electric one. On the other hand, the 333 hp GLC 300 4MATIC has a 2.0-liter diesel engine and an electric drive. In both cases, the battery is 31 kWh and allows them to homologate up to 130 kilometers of electric range, making the new GLC hybrid in the Mercedes plug-in hybrid with more autonomy. They are also equipped with 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel drive.
