There are many rumors floating around the web about the possible acquisition of Aston Martin by the German brand Mercedes-Benz.

Daimler has neither denied nor confirmed that the rumors circulating on the Internet are true. What is certain is that the German company already owns 5% of the brand and has recently signed a collaboration agreement for the development of engines.

Dieter Zetsche has neither affirmed nor denied whether these rumors are true or not, what he does say is that Aston Martin is a fantastic brand that they wish to support in its development.

Everything is not yet decided, as Investindustrial owns 37.5% of Aston Martin and we do not know if it would be willing to sell its share. What we do know is that it would be a very interesting step for Daimler to be able to compete with rivals such as Volkswagen.
