DS 4 Hybrid, exclusivity and French luxury now also with ECO label - Concesur Group
Contenido del artículo
Car manufacturers are aiming in the short and medium term to reduce their emissions footprint by developing more efficient vehicles and technologies. One intermediate solution is hybrid propulsion systems, which, in varying degrees of electrification, make it possible to reduce both consumption and emissions.
DS Hybrid technology , which is also available on other models in the range such as the DS 3 Hybrid, achieves a significant improvement with a reduction in fuel consumption of up to almost 20% compared to a traditional gasoline engine. This optimized efficiency is coupled with the fact of being able to enjoy a car with the ECO environmental badge, a label that brings mobility advantages and a relief in tax burdens.
The DS 4 Hybrid adopts the new mild hybrid propulsion system (MHEV), a technology that already represents almost a third of new registrations in Spain. Its popularization is directly related to the advantages in consumption and the possibility of accessing the ECO label without altering the operation of the vehicle, which is driven like a traditional gasoline car.
Technical characteristics of the DS 4 Hybrid
In this case, the DS 4 adopts a three-cylinder PureTech 1.2 gasoline engine with a series of improvements that now allow it to develop 136 hp of power with 230 Nm of torque. The thermal propellant is joined by an electric motor with 21 kW and a maximum torque of 55 Nm that is integrated into the new six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission e-DSC6.
This configuration not only improves the performance of the DS 4, but also offers a multitude of new functions thanks to electric propulsion. For example, it is now possible to start silently using only the electric motor, drive with the gasoline engine off and provide extra power under full load conditions, such as overtaking.
Moreover, in urban driving is where the DS 4 Hybrid gets the best numbers. In the city, it is possible to drive up to 50% of the time in electric mode, so the fuel savings are considerable. Once on the road, not only do you get a reduction in consumption, but you also get an improvement in torque at low revs and an increase in power in acceleration phases.
The electrical energy is stored in a 0.9 kWh self-recharging hybrid battery. This means that there are no plugs to recharge the battery, as it draws its charge from braking and deceleration. So when you need to drive in zero-emission mode again, the battery will always have enough charge to power the electric drive.
In terms of figures, the DS 4 Hybrid system achieves a reduction of almost 15% in emissions, homologating 112 g/km ofCO2. Consumption also benefits with a saving of 1.2 l/100 km compared to the homologated figures for the DS 4 PureTech 130 Automatic, and in urban driving that fuel saving can be as much as 38%.
Range and finishes
The new DS 4 Hybrid is available in the three trim levels that make up the range. This includes the Pallas access version, which stands out for standard equipment items such as parking sensors with rear camera, tinted rear windows, infotainment system with 10" touch screen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, hands-free start, electric folding mirrors and 19" SAPPORO alloy wheels.
The Etoile version adds to the standard equipment DS Matrix LED Vision headlights, hands-free access system Proximity, Head-Up Display with expanded content, the DS Iris System infotainment system with touch screen and alloy wheels Seville 19 ". In addition, you can choose between Alcantara upholstery or exclusive Nappa leather upholstery.
Finally, the Antoine de Saint Exupéry version honors the ultimate exclusivity of DS Automobiles by adding to its luxurious standard equipment systems such as the heated steering wheel, wireless smartphone charger, electrically adjustable heated front seats, and the extended safety package with traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistant.
