This truck transports a wide variety of foods through the city of Antwerp, Belgium. From battered fish to shrimp croquettes. All delicacies revolve around the sea. The specialty of the owner, Jan Kegels, is the "Kibbeling". This is a Dutch white fish dish, like cod, which is cut into small pieces, battered and then fried. Another dish is golden fish morsels served with tartar sauce, served on hamburger bread.

The two old Mercedes-Benz 508 D's form the heart of Jean Sur Mer. Jan has transformed them into a peculiar car for fish lovers. The Belgian sells seafood delicacies in Antwerp. The two vehicles are from 1985 and 1987, they come from the Dutch and German armies. They were used as ambulance vehicles. Jan refurbished the trucks with everything necessary to run the business. He added a stove, fryer and the ingredients to prepare the heavy dishes.

They were the first food trucks to enter Belgium. Jan opted for the truck because of the flexibility and mobility that a restaurant did not give him.

He started out attending festivals and trade fairs, but was lucky enough to be the first food truck in the country and all the press took notice. Popularity soon came to the business. Today "Jean Sur Mer" is present at corporate events and private parties. "Being hired for events is an easier and more reliable business, you know how much you earn and how much food you have to prepare," Jan explains. Using a Mercedes as a medium for the business is a great attraction for the clientele.
