Mercedes-Benz GLC, everything you can expect from an SUV

Finally we know the new member of the family of the star, the new Mercedes-Benz GLC. Called to be the successor to the GLK, this mid-size SUV has little to do with the model that precedes it, being right now the leading vehicle in the midsize premium SUV segment.

The Mercedes-Benz GLC presents a very attractive aesthetic that flees from the existing conventions in the GLK, allowing itself to be infected by the new design trends of the German manufacturer. With a line very similar to that found in the new C-Class Estate, presents a dynamic look and character, being ready to offer its full potential in any situation.

Given its increased dimensions, from 4.53 to 4.65 m long and from 1.84 m to 1.89 m wide, the GLC has a much more generous cabin, and also comfortable thanks to the 3 different types of suspension available in its range: a conventional suspension, a sports suspension and the Air Body control, an electronically controlled air suspension. All this allows the GLC to be the model in its segment with greater interior roominess.

The high level of technology available to this SUV is another of its great attractions, coming to have many systems present in the reference model par excellence in Mercedes-Benz, the S-Class. It especially has the latest in safety and driving aids, such as Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Pre-Safe Plus, BAS Plus, intelligent LED lighting, cruise control with distance regulation, and a long etcetera.

The mechanical offer is very varied and efficient, with diesel-powered versions, gasoline and even a plug-in hybrid, that yes all of them are 4Matic all-wheel drive. The diesel range is configured by only two versions GLC 220 d and GLC 250 d, with 170 and 204 hp respectively.

The gasoline offer, for the moment is restricted to the GLC 250, with 211 hp. While the plug-in hybrid version is called GLC 350e and combining a gasoline engine and an electric motor is capable of achieving CO2 emissions of only 60 g / km and travel up to 34 km in fully electric mode. Two high-performance versions signed by AMG are expected to arrive at a later date.Mercedes-Benz-GLC-03 (1)
