The Mercedes Sprinter is the largest van in the Mercedes Benz Commercial Vehicles range, ahead of the Mercedes Citan and the Mercedes Vito. Versatile is the attribute that best suits the new Sprinter, the third generation presented in 2019 and available in different bodywork options: Van, Tourer, Open Platform and Chassis. It is even offered in a 100% electric variant, the Mercedes Benz eSprinter.
In terms of design, the Mercedes Benz Sprinter has a front end with the characteristic Mercedes Benz grille, rectangular headlights and a bulky and robust bumper. Its body, well paneled, with side windows for passenger version, or open platform, is available in four different lengths -Compact, Medium, Long and Extra-Long-, and, in turn, in three roof heights -Normal, Elevated and Superelevated-.
With a cargo space volume ranging from 7.8 m3 to 17 m3, the maximum payload is 3,144 kg. For its part, the Sprinter Tourer is available with three lengths, two roof heights and up to three rows of seats for nine seats. Inside, the Mercedes Sprinter van includes all kinds of amenities, such as keyless start, smartphone tray, MBUX infotainment system with 10.25-inch touchscreen and THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control.
The Sprinter offers different versions with diesel engines. The 2.1-liter block has 114 hp in the 211 CDI, 311 CDI and 511 CDI variants; 143 hp in the Sprinter 214 CDI, 314 CDI, 414 CDI and 514 CDI models; and 163 hp in the 316 CDI, 416 CDI and 516 CDI versions. On the other hand, the powerful 3.0-liter engine reaches 190 hp in the 319 CDI, 419 CDI and 519 CDI versions.
New in this third generation is the 100% electric version of the van, the Mercedes eSprinter, with an 85 kW (116 hp) motor, a 35 kWh or 47 kWh battery, and up to 158 km of range.
