The second generation of the Mercedes GLA was unveiled in 2019, which has been a quantum leap over its predecessor. The new GLA is taller and wider than the previous model and adopts styling cues from other models in the Mercedes Benz SUV range, such as the GLC and the GLE. The second generation lands with plenty of arguments to overcome its most direct rivals: the Audi Q3 and BMW X1.
The Mercedes Benz GLA debuts a more dynamic image, with design features adopted from the brand's new styling, present on the Mercedes A-Class. Its new flush LED headlights and new grille gain prominence at the front. Meanwhile, the clean lines flow to the rear, with new signature LED lights and a robust bumper with oval tailpipes.
The interior of the new GLA is a true reflection of the latest Mercedes Benz advances, all materialized in the new MBUX infotainment system and its dual 10.25-inch screen. A modern style, complemented by the sophisticated ambient lighting system with a multitude of color combinations to choose from, premium finishes and fine materials such as leather or wood.
The Mercedes GLA offers a spacious and comfortable cabin for up to five passengers, who can carry their luggage without complications thanks to the 435 liters of trunk capacity. Choose between two trim levels: Progressive and AMG Line.
The new GLA is available with the 1.3 turbo gasoline engine of 136 hp (GLA 180) and 163 hp(GLA 200), with 7G-DCT automatic transmission. The GLA 250 4MATIC equips a 224 hp 2.0 turbo, 8G-DCT automatic transmission and 4MATIC traction, while the Mercedes AMG versions, GLA 35 and GLA 45 S, offer 306 hp and 421 hp, respectively, an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 8G automatic transmission and 4MATIC traction system.
It is also offered with diesel engine, specifically the 2.0 liter with 150 hp for the GLA 200 d, available with automatic transmission 8G-DCT and optionally with 4MATIC traction. For its part, the GLA 220 d 4MATIC offers the same gearbox, but with 190 hp power. And the plug-in hybrid version, the GLA 250 e, delivers 218 hp of power, 76 kilometers of electric range and 0 Emissions environmental badge of the Directorate General of Traffic.
