The passenger car market grows in November boosted by the extension of the PIVE 6 - Grupo Concesur

After an unpromising start to the month when the funds of the Pive 6 Plan ran out, the announcement on Friday 21 of the extension of the Plan managed to boost activity once again, closing November with a growth in the passenger car market of 17.4%, with a total volume of 65,122 operations.

These figures mean linking up to 15 consecutive months of growth in the market, achieving a cumulative growth of 18.1% so far in 2014, after accumulating 781,868 units registered.

With only one month left to close the 2014 financial year , we can affirm that this is being the year of the beginning of the recovery. A good example of this is that with December still to be completed, the number of cars registered in 2013 has already surpassed the figure of 120,000 units registered in the whole of 2013.

Juan Antonio Sánchez Torres, President of GANVAM, stated: "We are on the verge of this year being known as the year of the recovery of the automotive sector. However, the retroactive nature of the extension of the PIVE-6 Plan has made it possible to mitigate the lull in the market during the three weeks without aid, recovering more than 1,500 operations in the final stretch of November. This market behavior shows that the purchase aid programs should be automatically renewed, especially when for every euro the State invests in PIVE it recovers twice as much through taxes".

The Concesur Group brands also shared these good results in November. Mercedes-Benz sales in Spain increased by +39%, Hyundai by +27.1%, Nissan did the same with a growth of +35.5%, the urban Smart by +147.2%, while Opel and Peugeot grew by +31.3% and +3.4% respectively. However, Japan's Honda failed to join this positive trend, closing November down -6.1%.
