Contenido del artículo
The new Mercedes EQE is one of the members of the Mercedes-EQ range of 100% electric vehicles. A technologically advanced sedan with efficiency as the highest standard that has achieved recognition for its impeccable technical development. The Mercedes EQE has obtained the highest score in the Euro NCAP safety tests, the European body that certifies the degree of safety of all cars sold on the market.
As did the Mercedes EQS in 2021, the new EQE has achieved 5 stars in Euro NCAP 's comprehensive crash and driver assistance technology tests with scores similar to, and even better in some areas, than the new EQS. With this certification, Mercedes-EQ once again demonstrates the capability of its electric car range, championing not only the effectiveness of its propulsion systems, but also providing the most advanced Mercedes-Benz safety and driver assistance systems.
5 Euro NCAP stars for the new Mercedes EQE
As with the Mercedes E-Class, which also achieved 5 Euro NCAP stars, the Mercedes-EQ EQE has undergone a series of crash tests to check how its structure and bodywork protects passengers in the event of a road accident. The European safety body evaluates each model based on four essential areas: adult passenger protection, child passengers, vulnerable road users and safety assistants.
Mercedes-Benz applies the same comprehensive safety principles to all its models. For this reason, the EQE obtains a rigid passenger compartment, special crumple zones and state-of-the-art restraint systems that have led to a score of 95% and 91%, respectively, in the areas of adult passenger protection and child passenger protection. In addition, protection for vulnerable road users scored a remarkable 83%.
The Mercedes EQE also benefits from a multi-stage high-voltage safety concept to protect all elements related to the sedan's 100% electric propulsion system. The protection concept provides a high degree of safety while driving, as well as during and after a collision, ensuring the integrity of the occupants at all times.
Driving assistance technologies for increased safety
To obtain a score of 81% in the area of safety assistants, Euro NCAP tested the new EQE with the optional Driving Assistance Package Plus. This package includes technologies such as the DISTRONIC active distance assistant, traffic sign detection, rear sensors for lane keeping assistant and active braking assistant with crossover function.
In addition, the optional safety package adds systems such as Evasive Maneuver Assist, PRE-SAFE Lateral Impulse and Active Speed Limit Assist, as well as Active Traffic Jam Assist, Active Steering Assist, Active Lane Change Assist, Active Emergency Stop Assist, Active Brake Assist and Active Blind Spot Assist.
