With the aim of improving the efficiency of its range of vehicles, Opel is introducing new electrified versions of its most popular models. The Opel Corsa Hybrid presented a few weeks ago is now joined by a new member, the Opel Grandland Hybrid, the smartest way to enjoy an SUV equipped, versatile and more efficient than ever, with an interesting 48-volt hybrid propulsion system.
With this addition, the Grandland 2024 range now consists of a wide variety of powertrains to suit everyone. You will find Opel's compact SUV available with both diesel and gasoline engines, as well as two high-performance plug-in hybrid versions, including the powerful Opel Grandland GSe. All engines are equipped with automatic transmission as standard.
New Opel Grandland Hybrid 2024
The arrival of the new Opel Grandland Hybrid represents a first step in the offer of electrified engines of the German SUV. This version, available with ECO environmental label as standard, is equipped with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine developing 136 hp of power developed specifically for hybrid use.
Along with the gasoline engine, which is the basis of the propulsion system, a new six-speed dual-clutch electrified transmission is included where the 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor is integrated. Thus, the Grandland hybrid can homologate a combined cycle consumption of 5.7-5.5 l/100 km and emissions of 128-124 g/km, which is a significant reduction of 15% in both cases compared to the Grandland 1.2 Turbo version.
Particularly efficient in urban driving, the Grandland Hybrid's 48-volt technology allows you to drive up to 50% of the time using the electric motor. At low speeds, for example, in traffic, or when performing parking maneuvers, the propulsion system uses only the electric motor, keeping the gasoline engine off and, therefore, without consuming gasoline.
The Grandland Hybrid is especially easy to drive and use on a daily basis. It does not need plugs to recharge its battery, as the system obtains energy through regenerative braking or through the gasoline engine. In addition, it offers three driving modes (Eco, Normal and Sport) to adapt the behavior of the propulsion system to the driver's needs.
Practical and fully equipped as standard
The Opel Grandland remains particularly practical also in its 48-volt hybrid version. This compact SUV features a spacious interior for five passengers who can travel together with a trunk of up to 1,652 liters of cargo capacity. In addition, its towing capacity is up to 1,250 kilograms, making it ideal for both professional and leisure and family trips with heavy luggage.
Technology, on the other hand, is up to the driver's needs in the new Opel Grandland Hybrid. Inside, a 12" fully digital instrument panel provides all the important information at a glance. In this specific version, you can consult data related to the hybrid system, such as power, driving in electric mode or the energy flow between the battery, the gasoline engine and the wheels.
In addition, the new Grandland Hybrid offers you the latest in technology and comfort features. Depending on the trim level, you will enjoy the new Intelli-Lux LED Pixel Matrix headlights, the 360-degree vision camera, perfect for easy parking maneuvers, or the Keyless Open & Start system with hands-free tailgate.
It also includes a color touchscreen for the infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging point for mobile devices and the comfortable AGR-certified ergonomic active seats for driver and front passenger.
