The Mercedes EQE SUV is the newest member of the Mercedes-EQ range of electric vehicles. This electric SUV shares attributes and features with the Mercedes EQE, and offers the latest advances in propulsion technology, safety systems and connectivity of Mercedes-Benz. Sophistication, elegance and quality are just some of the adjectives that define the new EQE SUV, the multi-purpose variant of the EQE sedan.
Like the Mercedes EQS and the Mercedes EQS SUV, the new addition to the range is the SUV version of the EQE. It is one of the most spacious models in its class, is available in two versions and an AMG variant, offers up to 590 kilometers of electric range and includes numerous top-level technological solutions designed to improve passenger comfort on board, provide a high level of safety and offer the latest connectivity solutions.
Design
The design of the Mercedes EQE SUV adopts aesthetic features characteristic of the Mercedes-EQ range. Highlights include the fairing front grille, LED High Performance headlights (optional DIGITAL LIGHT headlights are available) connected by a luminous central section or the sporty design of the bumpers. It is an SUV and it shows in the specific plastic protections of the wheel arches and side sills, as well as in its high ground clearance.
Smooth lines and clean surfaces, with elements such as flush door handles, give the EQE SUV a more sober and elegant look. At the rear, LED headlamps united in a single group that runs the width of the vehicle and a robust but elegant bumper with specific trim.
The EQE SUV is available with a range of wheel sizes from 19" to 22", while its elaborate design and various aerodynamic details allow an aerodynamic coefficient of 0.25. The measurements of the Mercedes EQE SUV are: 4,863 mm in length, 1,940 mm in width and 1,686 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm.
Interior
The interior of the Mercedes EQE SUV offers space and great livability. It is mainly characterized by the optionally available MBUX Hyperscreen, which consists of a single futuristic design screen that covers the entire width of the dashboard, integrates three monitors for the digital instrument panel, located behind the latest generation steering wheel, for the infotainment system and a third screen for the front passenger.
The large center console creates a wraparound space that divides the cabin of the new EQE SUV into two longitudinal sections. High-end finishes and luxury details are available in an interior that offers space for up to 5 passengers, who can travel seated in seats available in leather materials in different colors, while rose gold is a differentiating element of the Electric Art version.
The cabin of the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is spacious for all occupants. There is sufficient headroom in both the first and second rows, with an elbow room of 1,540 mm on the driver's side and 1,030 mm of legroom in the rear. In addition, the trunk of the Mercedes EQE SUV offers between 520 and 580 liters of capacity. The backrests of the rear seats are split 40/20/40 and are folding, which increases the cargo volume of the trunk to 1,675 liters.
Engines
The engine range of the Mercedes EQE SUV consists of three different versions, all with permanently excited synchronous motors (PSM). The rear-wheel drive EQE 350+ equips an electric motor with 215 kW (292 hp) and 565 Nm of torque, while the EQE 350 4MATIC integrates an electric transmission (eATS) on the front axle. It also develops 215 kW of power, but torque increases to 765 Nm.
Finally, the Mercedes EQE 500 4MATIC increases power to 300 kW (408 hp), like the Mercedes EQC, and torque to 858 Nm. The EQE SUV is a highly efficient vehicle with average fuel consumption ranging from 17.7 kWh to 22.7 kWh/100 km, depending on the version.
Autonomy and recharging
A 90.6 kWh battery is responsible for supplying energy to the engines of the new EQE SUV from Mercedes-EQ. This, together with the efficiency of its propellants, allows the EQE SUV to homologate between 480 and 590 kilometers of range in the EQE 350+ version, between 459 and 558 kilometers in the EQE 350 4MATIC variant, and between 460 and 547 kilometers in the EQE 500 4MATIC variant.
The battery of the EQE SUV offers different charging or energy recovery systems, such as the regeneration system with three stages (D+, D and D-) and a fourth fully automated level (DAUTO). In addition, the ECO assistant offers optimized recovery depending on the situation, allowing the battery to be recharged and increasing the range by harnessing the energy generated in the movement of the vehicle.
A state-of-the-art charging system is located above the rear axle of the EQE SUV. This charging point offers different solutions, such as connection to the public single-phase or three-phase AC grid with a power of up to 22 kW. It is also possible to charge from a Mercedes Wallbox and includes a charging power of up to 170 kW, which considerably reduces the time required to fully recharge the battery.
Mercedes-AMG EQE SUV
The new Mercedes-AMG EQE SUV is the fourth option in the engine range of the EQE SUV. It consists of two different versions, the EQE 43 4MATIC with 350 kW (476 hp) and 858 Nm of torque, which allows it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and record a top speed of 210 km/h.
The second version, the EQE 53 4MATIC+ increases the output of its two electric motors to 460 kW (626 hp) and 950 Nm of torque. With the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package, power rises to 505 kW (687 hp) and 1,000 Nm of torque. In this case, 0 to 100 km/h is 3.5 seconds and its top speed up to 240 km/h.
In both cases, the Mercedes-AMG version of the new EQE SUV includes systems such as AMG RIDE CONTROL+ with adaptive damping, a high-performance braking system and 21" wheels. It also benefits from a 100% AMG sporty aesthetic with specific bumpers, exclusive wheels and an interior with carbon finishes, high-end materials and an AMG Performance steering wheel.
Technology and security
The Mercedes EQE SUV integrates the latest advances in technology with the latest generation of driving assistance systems. It includes, among other things, ATTENTION ASSIST, active braking assistant, active lane change detector, parking package with reversing camera and speed limit indicator.
There are also highlights such as DISTRONIC active distance assistant, blind spot assistant, active emergency stop assistant, evasive maneuvering assistant and PRE-SAFE PLUS.
