What is Mercedes Assyst Plus? - Concesur Group
Contenido del artículo
Can you imagine having a system that takes care of monitoring the time and kilometers remaining until the next service of your vehicle? In Mercedes Benz this technology has been a reality in all new Mercedes cars for more than two decades. And is that, as standard, all models are equipped with the Mercedes Assyst Plus system.
Thanks to this intelligent assistant, you can stop worrying about when you should perform maintenance A and B to your Mercedes. This technology is responsible for notifying you when the interval of kilometers and/or time between revision and revision has been covered, and notifies our specialists of the Mercedes Benz Official Service of Concesur Group which parts of the vehicle need to be checked, replaced or repaired.
What is the function of the Mercedes Benz Assyst Plus system?
But what is the specific purpose of the Mercedes Assyst Plus system? It is a maintenance reminder system that is responsible for warning the driver when an overhaul is approaching. This alert is displayed on the instrument panel of your Mercedes and contains the word "Maintenance" followed by a letter (A or B) and a number (1 to 9).
The intervals for periodic maintenance will vary depending on the Mercedes model you have. It can be performed every 10,000 or 20,000 kilometers, or annually or every two years. In any case, the Assyst Plus system's service alert will appear if the established mileage or time is met, whichever comes first.
The alert displayed on the instrument panel of your Mercedes indicates to our technicians what maintenance needs to be performed. The letter indicates the duration of the maintenance, short (A) or long (B), while the number (1-9) specifies what work needs to be done in the service. This check or replacement work depends on the model, engine, mileage or age.
The Mercedes Assyst Plus system is intelligent and completely independent. This technology detects what we need to check in your Mercedes when it arrives at the workshop, so we can tune your vehicle. Remember that adhering to regular maintenance intervals is key to prolonging the life of your car and avoiding potential breakdowns in the future.
Reset Mercedes Assyst Plus
Once all the maintenance work has been carried out, our technicians will reset the Mercedes Assyst Plus. This reset consists of indicating to the car that the service has been completed and that all the indicated work has been carried out. In this way, the counter will be reset to zero and will show the remaining time -usually 365 days- and the mileage until the next service.
How to access the Mercedes Assyst Plus menu?
Accessing the Mercedes Assyst Plus menu is not easy. This menu is not in sight, but is hidden and it will be necessary to perform a specific combination by pressing the buttons on the multifunction steering wheel of your Mercedes Benz. In addition, it varies depending on the model and year of manufacture of your car, so it is not a general pattern that can be applied to any Mercedes.
In those Mercedes that do not integrate the touch controls on the steering wheel -pre-2018-, the Mercedes Assyst Plus menu is accessed by pressing for a few seconds the "Call" and "OK" switches located on each side of the multifunction steering wheel. The key must be in the on or ignition position (with the engine off).
Meanwhile, this same sequence is performed in Mercedes models after 2018, when the new steering wheel with touch controls was introduced. In vehicles equipped with the Mercedes MBUX infotainmet system, the "Back" button and the multi-touch key on the left side of the steering wheel must be pressed. This operation is performed for a few seconds, until the new menu appears in the instrument cluster.
How to reset oil change in Mercedes Assyst Plus?
Once you have accessed the menu, you can reset the oil change in Mercedes Assyst Plus. To do this, you must navigate through the different submenus once you access the 'Workshop' section. In the 'Maintenance' section you must select the type of engine oil used before confirming that the service has been carried out.
It is important not to manipulate this menu without having performed the maintenance properly. If you do so, the Mercedes Assyst Plus system will lose its effectiveness, altering the pre-established maintenance intervals. Remember that resetting the Mercedes Assyst Plus system is part of the maintenance work performed by our technicians and does not involve any additional cost to the customer.
Tire pressure control in Mercedes Assyst Plus
Within the 'Service' menu, which you can access from the instrument panel with the touch controls on the steering wheel of your Mercedes Benz, you will find several submenus, such as Assyst Plus where you can see how much time is left for the next maintenance check, or the tire pressure control to check the status of the tire pressures.
In this second section you can quickly check the pressure of each of the car's tires. You can also set a personalized alert with a minimum pressure limit. From this limit, if the pressure drops, the system will launch an alert through the instrument panel to keep you constantly informed.
Finally, we would like to point out that all our Grupo Concesur workshops are Official and Authorized Mercedes Benz Services. In these centers work specialized technicians who know perfectly each section of your vehicle. We only use original spare parts of the brand and work based on strict quality criteria established by Mercedes, so that the result of any repair is always the best.
