New Peugeot 2008 2023 unveils new look, technology and electrified engines

The second generation of the Peugeot 2008 was released at the end of 2019 and, since then, it has managed to be one of Peugeot 's best-selling models and a benchmark within the urban SUV segment. By design, equipment and mechanical offer, the 2008 has conquered hundreds of thousands of drivers in recent years. Now the new Peugeot 2008 2023 is presented, an update focused on style, technology and electrification.

This renewal allows the 2008 SUV to adopt an image similar to the latest launches of the brand, such as the Peugeot 508 2023, while integrating top-level technological solutions, both in connectivity and in safety systems and driving assistance. Finally, the mechanical offer evolves with a new more powerful and efficient propulsion system for the electric Peugeot e-2008, and a new hybrid mechanics that will arrive in early 2024 to the range.

Peugeot 2008 2023, a much more modern image

The design of the Peugeot 2008 2023 evolves with innovations introduced by other models such as the Peugeot 308. Among the most important changes in its aesthetics highlights the new grille, LED headlights with new light signature and daytime running lights divided into two groups of three vertical stripes, separated from the main headlight and integrated into a specific section of the bumper, which has also been redesigned.

At the rear, the 2008 now features LED lights with a new design, while the Peugeot logos have been updated on the front and rear, as well as the "2008" designation, which now features a new typography. To this can be added the new Selenium Grey and Okenite White paints for the bodywork, and new 16", 17" and 18" wheel designs inspired by the Peugeot 408.

The Peugeot 2008 remains a B-segment SUV and its measurements are unchanged after the update: 4.30 meters long, 1.98 meters wide and 1.55 meters high, with a trunk of 434 liters.

The most technological and connected interior

The interior of the Peugeot 2008 2023 has also seen some improvements, mainly at the technological level. One of its main novelties concerns the 10" digital instrument panel, which features a new design and 3D graphics for the GT version, while the Active model still retains an analog cluster.

The central touchscreen of the Peugeot i-Connect and Peugeot i-Connect Advanced infotainment systems is now 10" as standard. It debuts the latest generation of the brand's operating system, and now offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Allure and GT version features high-definition technology and the screen is accompanied by physical buttons in piano black for quick access to different vehicle and system functions.

On the other hand, the steering wheel of the 2008 2023 debuts the new Peugeot logo and in the GT version there is a specific logo on the bottom. This trim level also features an ambient lighting system with eight color options, while the manual gearbox versions have a more ergonomically designed knob for the gearshift lever.

An updated engine offer

The engine range of the Peugeot 2008 2023 is initially composed of four different mechanicals. The offer includes two 1.2-liter turbocharged PureTech gasoline units offering 100 hp and 130 hp of power. With great performance and maximum fuel efficiency, the gasoline engines are fitted with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, while the PureTech 130 version can opt for an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The third mechanical option of the new 2008 is a powerful four-cylinder 1.5-liter BlueHDi diesel engine. This engine develops a power of 130 hp and is available only with eight-speed automatic transmission.

The great novelty in the engine section of the Peugeot 2008 2023 focuses on its all-electric version, the e-2008. It debuts a new electric propulsion system that it shares with models such as the Peugeot e-308 or the new Opel Mokka Electric.

This new propulsion system is equipped with a more powerful 115 kW (156 hp) electric motor and a battery that now offers 54 kWh of energy capacity. In this way, the new e-2008 2023 has an electric range of up to 406 kilometers and includes fast charging at 100 kW, which reduces the charging time to just 30 minutes (from 20% to 80% of the battery level). It also includes other charging options at 3.2 kW, 7.4 kW and 11 kW.

In early 2024, the 2008 engine range will be extended with a hybrid version. The new 2008 48V Hybrid will debut an electrified 136 hp PureTech engine with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, thus reducing gasoline consumption by up to 15% and earning the ECO environmental badge.

New technology and safety features

Among the new features introduced by the Peugeot 2008 2023 at the technological level are the "OK PEUGEOT" voice recognition system for the infotainment system, new USB type A and type C connections, a charging point for mobile devices with up to 15W of power and a rear view camera with high-definition image integrated into the new parking assistance system.

In terms of safety and driving assistants, the new 2008 features:
