The Opel Combo electric combines the best of two worlds. On the one hand, it is an excellent minivan focused on family life, with a spacious interior and a load volume typical of a commercial vehicle derivative. On the other hand, it maximizes efficiency with a powerful electric propulsion system and great autonomy, with a Zero Emissions environmental label and great ease of use. Designed for day-to-day use and capable of making long road trips.
New look, interior for up to seven passengers
The new Combo Electric 2024 now sports a design in line with Opel's image. The changes are mainly focused on the front end, where the Opel Vizor, with the Opel Blitz in the center and the Vizor extending to integrate the LED headlights, is the main protagonist.
Also new is the front bumper, with a renewed design where aerodynamics have been improved to optimize efficiency. In addition, the rear lights now sport a new, much more streamlined and modern light signature.
The new Opel Combo Electric is once again available in two body lengths: the 4.41-meter (L) and 4.76-meter (XL) versions, with five and seven seats inside, respectively.
Meanwhile, the interior of the electric minivan retains its generous roominess, with up to three rows of seats available. It offers a fully digital cockpit, where the driver accesses a 10" digital instrument panel, where he will find all the relevant information of the propulsion system, and a 10" central touch screen for the infotainment system, with wireless connection for smartphone and inductive charging.
Passengers enjoy, in turn, a large panoramic roof with electrically activated sun protection and a total of 27 storage compartments totaling 186 liters of cargo volume to store all these essential items.
Finally, the trunk of the Combo Electric offers between 775 liters (L version) and 4,000 liters (XL version, up to the roof) of cargo volume. The rear compartment can be accessed through the independently opening window in the tailgate and the front passenger seat backrest can be folded horizontally to load the vehicle also with long objects, such as skis or a surfboard.
The powertrain of the new Opel Combo Electric
The new Opel Combo Electric 2024 is equipped with a 100% electric propulsion system. It has a motor with 100 kW/136 hp of power and 260 Nm of torque that allows you to reach top speeds of 135 km/h. Thanks to the three available driving modes (Eco, Normal and Power) you can configure the engine performance and maximize its efficiency.
The energy is stored in a 50 kWh battery located under the floor, which preserves the Combo's large habitability and trunk space. In addition, it is now possible to travel up to 330 kilometers on a single charge, an increase of 50 kilometers over the previous model.
The Combo Electric's long range is coupled with a regenerative braking system that allows you to choose between three levels of recovery via the paddles behind the steering wheel. And when it is necessary to recharge the battery, the new Combo 2024 supports fast charges of up to 100 kW at public stations, and can reach 80% of the battery level in about 30 minutes.
Safety and technology innovations
The third pillar in which the Opel Combo Electric improves over its predecessor is in the technological equipment. The renewed electric minivan now offers Opel's adaptive and anti-dazzle IntelliLux LED headlights, with a total of 14 LED elements, seven on each side, ensuring maximum light output without dazzling other road users.
This is complemented by the new generation of Opel's infotainment system. Equipped with a 10" color touch screen, this system is based on Qualcomm Technologies' integrated Snapdragon Cockpit platform and enables graphics, multimedia and computer vision functions.
In addition, the system's main functions can be operated via the "Hey Opel" natural voice recognition system and it also supports wireless smartphone connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
