The new Peugeot 308 Hybrid is the plug-in hybrid variant of the Peugeot compact. This is the most efficient version within the range, available with two different power levels and characterized by offering maximum efficiency, ride comfort and dynamism. The new 308 hybrid also shares a full range of standard equipment and the latest advances in technology and safety systems.
The two plug-in hybrid versions of the Peugeot 308 Hybrid are available within a range with three and four-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines. In the near future, the range of engines of the new 308 will be complemented by a 100% electric variant that will allow access to a wide variety of propulsion systems adapted to the different needs of each driver.
Peugeot 308 Hybrid inside and out
With a bold design and compact proportions, the Peugeot 308 Hybrid sports a determined-looking front end with a large grille and sharp LED headlights on either side, while the daytime running lights are shaped like fangs, an element also present on models such as the Peugeot 2008 or the new Peugeot 408.
From the side, the new Peugeot 308 plug-in hybrid shows its dynamism and originality, with pronounced lines and defined wheel arches. The line of windows or the roof give it character, while the different wheel designs allow you to customize your car according to your own tastes. The rear is elegant and sophisticated, with LED headlights integrated into a specific frame, a pronounced bumper and a small spoiler on the roof.
Available in both 5-door and estate versions, called Peugeot 308 SW, the plug-in hybrid version has an interior where the Peugeot i-Cockpit is the main protagonist. The compact steering wheel, the 10" digital instrument cluster located in a raised position and the 10" touch screen for the infotainment system are oriented towards the driver's seat. The number of physical switches and buttons has also been reduced, and there is a choice of upholstery including cloth, leather and Alcantara with contrasting colored stitching.
The trunk of the Peugeot 308 Hybrid also retains its large capacity despite locating the hybrid system battery under the floor. The 5-door version offers up to 360 liters of capacity, while the 308 SW Hybrid reaches 550 liters without folding the backrests of the rear seats. Once folded, the available cargo space is more than 1,570 liters.
Plug-in hybrid engines and range
The Peugeot 308 Hybrid engine offer consists of two different versions with two power levels. On the one hand, the Peugeot 308 Hybrid 180 is equipped with a 150 hp 1.6 PureTech gasoline engine and an 81 kW (110 hp) electric drive powered by a 12.4 kWh lithium-ion battery.
Combined power is 180 hp and maximum torque is 360 Nm. The system is linked to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, with which it has an average fuel consumption of just 1.1 l/100 km andCO2 emissions of just 24 g/km (25 g/km for the 308 SW Hybrid 180). In addition, the 308 Hybrid 180 has a long range in 100% electric mode, with 61 km (60 km for the 308 SW Hybrid 180) of maximum range.
The second version is the Peugeot 308 Hybrid 225 (only available in 5-door version). This variant is even more powerful and dynamic, yet as efficient as the 308 Hybrid 180. The basis of the propulsion system is the 180 hp 1.6 PureTech gasoline engine, the 81 kW (110 hp) electric motor and the 12.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, as well as the eight-speed automatic transmission.
As a result of this mechanical configuration, the 308 Hybrid 225 has a maximum power output of 225 hp and torque of 360 Nm. Consumption in combined cycle is 1.2 l/100 km andCO2 emissions of 26 g/km, while the homologated electric range reaches a maximum of 60 kilometers. Both versions, the 308 Hybrid 180 and the 308 Hybrid 225, have the DGT's Zero Emissions environmental label.
