The new Mercedes GLE was officially unveiled in 2018. It is the second generation of Mercedes Benz's full-size SUV, a luxurious vehicle with distinctive styling and the latest in technology. The SUV variant of the Mercedes E-Class is positioned in the model range between the Mercedes GLC and the GLS. It offers two different body versions: GLE SUV and GLE Coupé, with a sportier and more stylized style.
The design of the Mercedes Benz GLE is synonymous with robustness, elegance and presence. The front starts with the characteristic Mercedes Benz grille, its rectangular headlights with double LED line and a sporty style bumper that gives it a great class. The square wheel arches give way to an elongated body (4.92 meters) and a rear with a floating style roof and sharp LED headlights.
Inside the new GLE we find the new MBUX infotainment system with a dual 12.3-inch screen for widescreen driving position. The cabin space allows for a configuration of five and seven seats (five seats in the Mercedes GLE Coupe), as well as a trunk that reaches 630 liters with two rows of seats. A technological environment, luxury materials and comfort elements welcome passengers in the GLE.
The Mercedes Benz GLE-Class is available in two trim levels: standard and AMG Line.
What versions does the new GLE offer? Among the gasoline engines available is the 3.0-liter GLE 450 4MATIC with 367 hp, 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and semi-hybrid technology. The Mercedes AMG versions, the GLE 53 with 435 hp and the GLE 63 S with 612 hp, include SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G automatic transmission and 4MATIC+ traction as standard, as well as semi-hybrid technology.
Three diesel engines are available: a 2.0-liter with 245 hp for the GLE 300 d 4MATIC, and a 3.0-liter with 272 hp and 330 hp for the GLE 350 d 4MATIC and GLE 400 d 4MATIC versions. All engines include 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission as standard. It also offers plug-in hybrid versions, such as the 333 hp GLE 350 e 4MATIC gasoline hybrid and the 320 hp GLE 350 4MATIC diesel hybrid.
Buying the Mercedes GLE is the closest thing to buying a luxury SUV.
